Case

On 8 November 2018, Ekkachai and Chokchai went to acknowedged accusation under section 137 and 172 of the Criminal Code (report false complaint) at Ladprao Police Station.

 

Both pleaed no guilty.  The public prosecutor later filed the case against both defendant to the North Bangkok Municipal Court on 6 December 2018. Both defendants pleaded no guilty.  

 

Witnesses examination of this case were proceeded from 1 to 2 May 2019. The prosecution presented 5 witnesses to the court while the 2 defendants only presented themselves as witnesses before the court.

 

On 10 June 2019, the North Bangkok Municipal Court aquitted both defendants on the ground that accusation that the defendants report against the Army Chief was due to the actual statement that the Army Chief made to the press. 

Since the defendants were active in politics and there was historical fact that the Army did staged the coups in the past. The defendants then report the case because they were concern with the Army Chief's statement but had no intention to harm the Army Chief.
