Summary

Prior to the referendum, on June 19, 2016, members of United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) held a public gathering for their opening ceremony of UDD Referendum Monitoring Center in their respective towns. In the district of Nonsa-ard, Udonthani, the said activity was held at the house of Vassana and 20 villagers joined it.

After the activity, Paritporn, one of them, called a military officer and informed that the activity was done. Then, four of them were summoned to police station, interrogated and released then.

The participants were brought for the so-called ‘attitude adjustment’ by military officers, asked to sign some documents to accept the given conditions not to join, organize any political activity. Later, the four defendants were prosecuted for violation the Head of NCPO Order no.3/2015.
