Kampol, an environmental activist who lived in Southern Region posted status on his personal Facebook in September 2014 criticized against the use of artificial reef made by coal's ashes.

Phayorm Rattanamanee, a researcher who conducted a research on a production of artificial reef felt that Kampol's status was harmful to his reputation. Phayorm then filed a defamation and a Computer-related Crime Charge against Kampol before the Nakhon Sri Thammarat Provincial Court.
