Details of offence according to charge

Hanging a banner on a Phaya Thai Rd., pedestrian bridge, between the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University. The message was read “8 Years. 19 Sep: Dead Democracy is still lying dead.”

Circumstance of arrest

The Metropolitan Police Division 6 called the defendants by phone to pay for the fine. The defendants came to Pathumwan Metropolitan Police Station and paid for the fine.

Progress of case

1 October 2014

At 10.oo hrs. Nattisa, Thapakorn and friends went to Pathumwan Metropolitan Police Station. They met POL.LT.COL. Jetsadaporn Onthongkham, an Investigation Inspector of Pathumwan Metropolitan Police Station. The defendants were led to the investigation room for photocopying their ID cards, for background check and for further inquiries, such as; when and what time they went, who brought the banner and how, how long the banner was hung for, and how many people went there. After the investigation, municipal officials filed the charges. The police fined each defendant 1,000 Baht, and noted on daily police report.

While the investigation was in process, the police took photos, asked names and telephone numbers of the concerned students and the lawyer, for reporting to the superior officer.
