Details of offence according to charge

The NCPO summoned Worajet according to the NCPO order No. 5/2557 issued on 24 May 2014, but he did not report on time.

Circumstance of arrest

On 16 June 2014, Worajet Pakeerat beforehand informed the military officer and then went to report.

Progress of case

18 June 2014

around 12.30 PM, the military officers released Worajet out of the Crime Suppression Division and sent him to the military court to request for the temporary detention.

The military court approved the temporary detention, so Worajet was sent to the Bangkok Remand Prison. His family submitted the request for bail with 20,000 Thai baht.

Around 4.00 PM, the military court approved the bail with the limitations for Worajet including to not do anything on political movement, to request for permission before traveling to another country, and to report on the appointed time. Around 6.30 PM, Worajet was released from the Bangkok Remand Prison among approximately 20 people welcoming and encouraging him.

26 June 2014, the military court processed the trial of Worajet’s case as the inquiry officer requested for additional temporary detention for 12 days. Because they needed to investigate 3 more witnesses and check the criminal record with the Criminal Records Division. As for Worajet, he did not oppose the temporary detention, but he requested the inquiry officer to accelerate the investigation on witnesses as this case is not so complicated.

The judge of military court approved the additional temporary detention of Worajet for 12 days starting from 30 June until 11 July 2014, and then approved the temporary release because the bail agreement done by Worajet on 18 June is still effective with the same limitations.
