Summary of the verdict of the Court of First Instance
In a very brief statement, the Court said that the two defendants have performed in a play whose content is deemed an insult to the King and is found guilty for violating Article 112. They were sentenced to five years each, but given that they have pleaded guilty, the punishment has been reduced by a half to two years and six months.
From background check as instructed by the Court, it was found the defendants have had no criminal record. But given the severity of the act and since the performance has been made in front of general audience and even made accessible to public via websites, it has caused serious damage to the King and has made it unjustifiable to suspend the imprisonment.
