Pak Pong broadcasted the tape of the interview with a mother whose autistic daughter had been raped by her teachers. While recording, the mother and the victim were wearing a disguise to protect her right to privacy.

There were complaints lodged with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand that the talk show “Pak Pong” inappropriately interviewed the sexual-assault victim.  Meanwhile, NBTC began its investigation to review such case in the same month.

Col. Dr. Natee Sukonrat, a vice chairman of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand and also the chairman of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), disclosed the resolution of the NBC’s Board that the complaint tape presented by Pak Pong was regarded as broadcasting the program with content that was against the good moral which violated Section 37, paragraph 1 according to the Radio and Television Broadcasting Act 2008.

Furthermore, the NBC’s Board also resolved that the sub-committee should consider the imposition of penalties ranging from warning, fine, suspension and revocation the broadcasting license as well as accelerating its proposal of a consideration result by expecting it would be proposed to the Board for judging within June 2013.

A vice chairman of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand a revealed that Pak Pong, the talk show airing on Channel 8 managed by RS Plc, broadcasted the content which was found to be violated Section 37 according to the Radio and Television Broadcasting Act 2008. In addition, the agreement was reached by the commission to impose a fine of 500,000 Baht on the show and the Office of NBTC was assigned to send a letter to the channel’s director and the licensee to warn the show’s host regarding the act and report back to the NBTC’s Office.
